June 2, 2000

Students from across the state will attend a high school band and orchestra camp June 4-10 at Baylor University.

Approximately 250 students will be divided into three concert bands and an orchestra. They will rehearse pieces from a comprehensive music repertoire for three and a half hours per day. After the group rehearsal, students will have a hour and a half for private lessons taught by Baylor faculty members.

Most of the students attending the camp have competed at area, regional and state level competitions of solo and ensemble, region band and other band competitions. The camp which is open to all Texas students, is one of the most selective and sought-after band and orchestra camps in the Lone Star state.
