Baylor Hosts Fall Premiere Oct. 6-7

October 5, 2000

Baylor University will host high school seniors and their parents this weekend during Fall Premiere.

The annual event will kick off with a mixer for visiting students and parents that will allow them to mingle with current Baylor students, staff and one another. The informal mixer is from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, in the Bill Daniel Student Center.

Saturday's activities will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. in the Ferrell Special Events Center. At 9 a.m., the opening session, "Welcome to Baylor," will give prospective students and their families an insight into Baylor life. Facts about Baylor will be given and a special question and answer session will provide more in-depth knowledge about the university and its community.

Following the opening session, visitors will have free time to enjoy the campus and tour many of its facilities, including the science labs, residence halls and libraries. Lunch will be served at the different residence hall food courts, and potential Baylor parents and students will be able to purchase souvenirs from the Baylor University Bookstore.

Fall Premiere also will consist of several activities and seminars to help parents and potential students become familiar with campus life. The seminars will include information on international and study abroad programs, multicultural opportunities, residence hall life and multiple academic choices.

Acts from All-University Sing will be performed in Waco Hall from 4 to 4:30 p.m. during Fall Premiere's closing program.
