'Isn't It Romantic' Opens At Baylor Theatre Nov. 14

November 10, 2000

The contemporary comedy "Isn't It Romantic" will open Tuesday, Nov. 14, and will run through Sunday, Nov. 19, in Theater 11 at the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center on the Baylor University campus. Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14-18 with matinees scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Nov. 18 and Nov. 19.
Written by Wendy Wasserstein, the play focuses on the lives of Janie Blumberg and Harriet Cornwall, two former classmates, who have moved to New York to begin their professional careers.
"'Isn't It Romantic' is an honest look into the question of what do I really want out of life," said Sherrae Lott, director of the production and a Baylor graduate student from Hattisburg, Miss. "The characters in this play are forced to examine the value of their pursuits and whether they are worth pursuing or even attainable and what others will think."
The play features Amber Werley, a junior from Stockdale, Texas, as Blumberg and Megan Conner, a junior from Granbury, as Cornwall.
Tickets to the play are $8 and can be purchased at the Baylor Theatre box office or by calling 710-1865.
