The department of educational administration in Baylor University's School of Education will host the fifth annual Educational Leaders Luncheon at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 30, in the Foothills Room at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Austin.
The luncheon, which coincides with the Educators Mid-Winter Conference at the Austin Convention Center, will feature Rep. Jim Dunnam as guest speaker.
Dunnam was first elected to represent District 57 in the Texas House of Representatives in November 1996. In his first session, he served on the Higher Education and Criminal Jurisprudence Committees. During the current legislative session, Dunnam serves on the House Public Education and House Redistricting Committees and is vice chair of the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence. He also was appointed last spring to chair the Subcommittee on Charter Schools.
"Baylor is proud of the educational leaders who complete the graduate level programs available through the department of educational administration," said department chairman James L. Williamson. "This luncheon provides alumni, current and prospective students, as well as other educational leaders an opportunity to hear from and have access to a representative who serves on the Public Education Committee."
Baylor alumni and friends interested in education issues are invited to attend. Tickets for the luncheon are $24, and reservations should be made by noon Jan. 25.
