Baylor To Present Outstanding University Staff, Service Awards Feb. 28Feb. 27, 2001
Baylor University will honor eight staff members with the 2000 Outstanding Staff Awards, which will be presented during Baylor's annual service award ceremony at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, in the Barfield Drawing Room in the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Staff members, who were nominated by university faculty and staff for exceptional performance during the past year, will be honored in four categories: executive, administrative and management; professional (degree required); office/clerical; and technical, paraprofessional, skilled crafts and service maintenance. Honorees are selected on the basis of their support in fulfilling the university's mission, achievements within the respective job assignment and contributions through service at Baylor, in the local community and church.
Each outstanding staff member will receive a certificate signed by Baylor President Robert B. Sloan Jr., a monetary award and recognition in the Baylor Homecoming parade.
"Recognition as an Outstanding Staff member is considered to be a great honor, and recipients represent the very best of Baylor's staff," said Marilyn A. Crone, vice president for human resources. "We sincerely appreciate the thoughtful participation of every staff and faculty member in this nomination process."
Also to be recognized for their service to Baylor are university faculty and staff, who will receive pins indicating 5-year multiples of service. More than 220 employees will receive pins this year, for service ranging from 5 years to 35 years.
This year's ceremony, the university's 30th, is coordinated by compensation and benefits, including assistance from personnel services, payroll, public relations, university host, Bill Daniel Student Center, the division of human resources and organizational development, who will present a Baylor faculty or staff member with the BAYLORplus Award for quality service.
