U.S. Ambassador To Sweden To Visit Baylor March 27

Lyndon L. Olson, Jr., U.S. Ambassador to Sweden, will speak at Baylor University on Monday, March 27. His address, sponsored by the Hankamer School of Business, will be the second of four lectures to be presented during the 2000 Ben H. Williams Distinguished Speakers Series.
A native Wacoan and a 1969 Baylor graduate, Olson is the great-grandson of Swedish immigrants. He began a four-year residency at the American embassy in Stockholm in January 1998 as the 49th "chief of mission" in Sweden.
Previously, Olson was president and chief executive officer for eight years with Travelers Insurance Holdings, Inc. in New York City. He also served three terms in the Texas House of Representatives from 1973-78 and chaired the Texas State Board of Insurance for nine years.
Olson will speak to students attending international finance classes from 11-11:30 a.m. and from 2-2:30 p.m. in Room 301 at the Cashion Academic Building. He also will speak at a luncheon attended by students and Waco area civic leaders at noon on the fifth floor of Cashion.
His presentation in the Ben H. Williams Distinguished Speakers Series will be given at Hankamer's annual spring awards banquet at 6:30 p.m. on the fifth floor of Cashion. Awards will be distributed to outstanding students and faculty members during the program.
