Baylor to Host Four Cheerleading Camps This Summer

June 15, 1999

WACO, Texas -- Baylor University will host four cheerleading camps sponsored by the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) on June 17-20, June 24-27, July 8-11 and Aug. 5-8.
High school cheerleading squads from throughout Texas will travel to Waco to take part in these camps, which will focus on every aspect of cheerleading. Students will learn and practice various cheers, chants and stunts. They also will have scheduled leadership classes, jump classes and team time, and there will be daily evaluations and awards.
During the camps, each team will have the opportunity to try out for nationals with a
30-second cheer. Winning teams may register for the national championship, which will be held in Dallas in December.
The cost of the camp is $209 per student for overnight campers, which includes meals and lodging on the Baylor campus, and $120 for commuters. For advisors, the cost is $199 per person to stay overnight and $55 to commute.
