Baylor's athletic department will host a welcome home rally for the National Champion Baylor Lady Bears basketball team Wednesday afternoon at the Ferrell Center.

Baylor defeated Michigan State 84-62 Tuesday night in Indianapolis to capture Baylor's - and the Big 12's - first-ever national basketball title.

The Lady Bears return to Waco Wednesday and will be brought directly to the welcome home rally.

Wednesday's event begins at 4 p.m. when the Ferrell Center doors open and admission is free and open to the public. The Lady Bears and staff are expected to reach the arena at approximately 5 p.m. and the rally will begin shortly after their arrival.

The event will include video highlights of Baylor's run through the 2005 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship and speeches from players and head coach Kim Mulkey-Robertson.

For more information, contact Baylor athletic marketing at (254) 710-3073.
