Students Display Talents at "After Dark" Oct. 9

October 1, 1998

The Department of Student Activities will present "After Dark," an annual student talent show, at 7 and 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in Waco Hall as part of Parent's Weekend.
"Baylor has incredible hidden-talent and we are going to showcase a wide variety of that talent," said Jeromy Barber, coordinator of special performances.
Acts include a blue-grass band, a jump rope act, a skit by freshman girls about Baylor life, a group of guys doing a rhythm act using metal buckets, and a gospel group.
Barber said that the show was geared towards a more contemporary format last year, and he is planning to continue that change this year.
"We want the show to be more than just a spotlight and a curtain," Barber said.
The show will be hosted by Alan Utley and Melissa Hosack, who are both juniors from San Antonio and engaged to be married.
During intermission, the Alumni Association will present the annual award for "First Family of Baylor," and the Parents League will recognize the "Baylor 1998 Parents of the Year."
Tickets for the show are available at the ticket office in the Bill Daniel Student Center. The prices are $10 for general admission and $8 for students.
