WACO, Texas (Sept. 3, 2020) – Baylor University alumni and fans around the world are invited to collectively showcase their passion and spirit for Baylor, wearing green and gold to celebrate College Colors Day on Friday, Sept. 4.

College Colors Day typically marks the dawning of a new season of intercollegiate athletics and the opening of football season for many universities. Despite a delayed start to Baylor's athletics calendar due to COVID-19 that has pushed Baylor's 2020 football season opener to Saturday, Sept. 12, the excitement and energy traditionally surrounding weekends in the fall remains across the University's campus with the continuation of Spirit Fridays.

This year's College Colors Day theme, "United We Fan," emphasizes the power of togetherness that shared college fandom provides even though fans might be physically apart. While fans may be missing fall sports and traditional campus events, their unity and pride remains stronger than ever.

"Our Baylor community, along with alumni and fans wherever they may be, have enthusiastically embraced the Spirit Fridays tradition by proudly wearing their favorite green and gold apparel every Friday," said President Linda A. Livingstone, Ph.D. "While fall 2020 looks very different on our campus, as it also will at McLane Stadium, we are all connected in our love for Baylor and wearing the Green and Gold on College Colors Day and every Spirit Friday."

Created by collegiate licensing leader CLC and now in its 16th year, College Colors Day gives college fans across the country a distinct day to wear apparel and merchandise that feature the school colors of their favorite college or university while joining in the nationwide celebration by sharing their price on social media using the hashtag #CollegeColorsDay.

Baylor will kick off the 2020 football season at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, vs. Louisiana Tech at McLane Stadium. Baylor Athletics will begin the season with 25% capacity per game at McLane Stadium. The game will be broadcast on FOX and on Baylor's flagship radio station, 1660AM ESPN Radio/92.3FM.
