Coffee with a cop — Baylor University Police Department will host Coffee with a Cop, an opportunity to meet officers, voice concerns and ask questions.

Nicholas Buccola, Ph.D., professor of political science and Elizabeth and Morris Glicksman Chair in Political Science at Linfield College, will speak at the Robert T. Miller Lecture Series.

Hall Martin, founder and CEO of Texas Entrepreneur Networks and Baylor alumnus, will speak to students in the entrepreneurship program.

WACO, Texas (Nov. 14, 2019) — This week, Baylor University will host guest speakers across various academic disciplines from entrepreneurship to political science, as well as multiple film screenings, jazz concerts presented by the School of Music and Truett Seminary’s inaugural National Preaching Conference.

SUNDAY, Nov. 17

Jazz Combos – Baylor School of Music will present its Jazz Combos concert performance at 3:30 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building, 110 Baylor Ave. Alex Parker, senior lecturer in jazz studies and director of the Wayne Fisher Jazz Program, will lead the performance. MONDAY, Nov. 18

Chapel Highlights – Jared Alcantrara, Ph.D., associate professor of preaching at Truett Seminary, will speak during Chapel at 9:05, 10:10 and 11:15 a.m. in Waco Hall, 624 Speight Ave. For more information, visit the Spiritual Life website.
Movie Mondays at the Hippodrome – Movie Mondays presented by Baylor’s Union Board will continue this week with a showing of “The Farewell,” a film by director Lulu Wang celebrating the joys of family, life and happiness after the matriarch of a family has been given three weeks to live. The screening will be at 7 p.m. in the Waco Hippodrome, 724 Austin Ave. Tickets are free and can be picked up at the Waco Hippodrome Box Office, the Bill Daniel Student Center ticket office or online.

Leadership Speaker Series – The Academy for Leadership Development will feature Alexander Jun, Ph.D., and Christopher Collins, Ph.D., Azusa Pacific University higher education professors, who will discuss their upcoming book, “White Evolution: The Constant Struggle for Racial Consciousness” at 7 p.m. on the fifth floor of the Cashion Academic Center, 1401 S. National Preaching Conference – The Kyle Lake Center for Effective Preaching at Baylor University’s Truett Seminary will host the first National Preaching Conference on Nov. 19-21, featuring noted national proclaimers, choral worship and breakout sessions. World Cinema Series – The department of modern languages and cultures will continue its 13th annual World Cinema Series with “Live Your Dream: The Taylor Anderson Story,” a film in Japanese with English subtitles.
