New Bear Growl Event Set For Nov. 4 At Ferrell Center

November 4, 2004

Baylor University and Baylor Athletics will be hosting Bear Growl at the Ferrell Center Thursday, Nov. 4. This new Baylor event for faculty, staff and students and their family members will be held three times a year in order to showcase a particular season's sports and build campus spirit.
Bear Growl will tip off with the men's and women's basketball seasons, and a similar rally will follow in the spring for baseball, softball, track and tennis. The fall semester Bear Growl will feature football, volleyball and soccer.
Bear Growl is a university-wide effort aimed at bringing the Baylor family together to celebrate our unity and Big 12 Conference sports.
Baylor students, faculty and staff and their families are encouraged to gather at the Ferrell Center at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, for FREE dinner, provided by ARAMARK, and entertainment for all.
All campus dining locations, except Memorial Hall, will be closed at 4:30 p.m. At that time, dinner will be available in front of the Ferrell Center, followed by a men's and women's basketball extravaganza inside at 6 p.m. Bear Growl will be the first opportunity for the Baylor family to preview the upcoming basketball seasons and witness the personal side of our coaches and athletes.
Bear Growl will include a welcome from Baylor President Robert B. Sloan Jr., season-pumping speeches from Baylor head basketball coaches Kim Mulkey-Robertson and Scott Drew, and action-packed contests between the athletes. The program will conclude at 7 p.m., but dinner will be available until 8 p.m.
