Seven Baylor University students will compete in the regional tournament of the intercollegiate pocket billiards championship at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La., Feb. 26-March 1.

Sponsored by the Association of College Unions International (ACUI), the regional contest will determine which students advance to the international tournament to be held later this year in Green Bay, Wis.

Representing Baylor in the men's division at the Region 12 tournament will be Daniel Ramirez, Jerod Jones, Seth Allen, Kristian Zamber, Travis Luscombe and Huy Phan. Rebekah Staggs will compete in the women's division.

They were selected for the regional competition at a campus level qualifying tournament held at Baylor last month to decide the top men's and women's pocket billiards players. The tournament was one of several hundred held at colleges and universities around the nation in the qualifying round for the championship.
