The Place 2 BU will host its annual Gold Rush from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Fountain Mall at Baylor University. This university-wide tailgate will help kick off the weekend as Baylor football prepares to face Texas A&M.
"This year we really wanted to focus on the gold rush and put a positive spin on things," said Cece Lively, graduate assistant for Student Union Programming. The event has previously been called "Gag the Ags" and "Cattle Drive."
The night's activities will include Aggie Olympics, Aggie NASCAR with remote control cars, bobbing for apples, wax hands, sack races and caricatures. There also will be a tailgate competition in which different campus organizations decorate their trucks with as much Baylor spirit as possible.
Place 2 BU is "composed of professional staff from across the Division of Student Life and Baylor students working together to provide and promote weekend and special events," according to the group's website. Other Place 2 BU events include Balloon Glow, Slime Night, Late Night @ the SLC, and Christmas on 5th Street.
The event is free and open to the public. There will be pizza and Dr Pepper provided. For more information, contact Student Union Programming at (254)710-4919.
