Collins Outstanding Professor Award Recipient Will Deliver Lecture April 25

WACO, Texas (April 23, 2019) – Jane Damron, Ph.D., senior lecturer in communication and this year’s Collins Outstanding Professor Award recipient, will lecture from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, in the Packard Lecture Hall at the Marrs McLean Science Building, 1214 S. Fourth St.

Damron will present, “The Power of Intentional Communication In and Out of the Classroom,” which will explore how intentional communication serves as a central theme within her teaching and research areas.
“My goal in speaking on this topic is simply to share with the audience my perspectives on teaching and my interests in the field of communication,” Damron said. “Ultimately, good communication has the power to enrich our relationships, careers and lives, so this address will be my personal take on these matters, as related to my journey and my work with students at Baylor.”

The Collins Award is provided by the Carr P. Collins Foundation to recognize and honor outstanding teachers at Baylor University. The Collins Professor receives a cash award of $10,000, recognition in University publications, citation on a plaque and recognition at the spring commencement ceremony.
