WACO, Texas (Feb. 7, 2019) – This week, Baylor University will host a variety of events from several academic units such as the department of chemistry and biochemistry; the School of Music; journalism, public relations and new media; and Baylor Law School.

SUNDAY, Feb. 10

Semper Pro Musica Chamber Competition Finals - The final round of the Baylor School of Music Semper Pro Musica Chamber Competition will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building, 101 Baylor Ave. The event is free and open to the public. MONDAY, Feb. 11

Chapel Highlights - John Woods, music and worship pastor at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, will perform during Chapel at 9:05, 10:10 and 11:15 a.m. in Waco Hall, 624 Speight Ave. For more information, visit the Spiritual Life website.

Hearn Innovators in Christian Music Series - John Woods, music and worship pastor at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, will give the annual Hearn Innovators in Christian Music Series Lecture from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall II, located adjacent to the lobby of Waco Hall. TUESDAY, Feb. 12

W.C. Dobbs Endowed Lecture - William Bellinger, Ph.D., The W. Marshall and Lulie Craig Chairholder in Bible and chair of the department of religion in Baylor’s College of Arts & Sciences, will present the W.C. Dobbs Endowed Lecture on “A School of Prayer” at 11 a.m. in the Paul Powell Chapel in George W. Truett Theological Seminary, 1100 S. Screening of “A Fragile Trust” - The department of journalism, public relations and new media will present a screening of “A Fragile Trust,” a documentary detailing the biggest plagiarism scandal at The New York Times with Jayson Blair in 2003 at 6 p.m. in room 101 in Marrs McLean Science Building, 1214 S. Fourth St. Macarena Hernandez, The Fred Hartman Distinguished Professor of Journalism, who was the last reporter Blair plagiarized, will answer questions following the screening.
