Martin Luther King Celebration Scheduled For Jan. 19

The department of educational administration in the School of Education at Baylor University will host a Martin Luther King celebration luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, in the Barfield Drawing Room in the Bill Daniel Student Center. Approximately 100 area educators, graduate students and African-American community leaders are expected to attend.
The luncheon will feature Adrian Johnson, assistant superintendent for the Corsicana Independent School District, as guest speaker. Entertainment will be provided by Portraits, a group of elementary, middle, high school and Baylor students who use the performing arts to motivate and educate at-risk children. The troupe will perform a poetry interpretation of "Epitaph to a Man," a tribute to King.
