Martin Luther King Celebration Scheduled For Jan. 19

indent pictureThe department of educational administration in the School of Education at Baylor University will host a Martin Luther King celebration luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, in the Barfield Drawing Room in the Bill Daniel Student Center. Approximately 100 area educators, graduate students and African-American community leaders are expected to attend.

indent pictureThe luncheon will feature Adrian Johnson, assistant superintendent for the Corsicana Independent School District, as guest speaker. Entertainment will be provided by Portraits, a group of elementary, middle, high school and Baylor students who use the performing arts to motivate and educate at-risk children. The troupe will perform a poetry interpretation of "Epitaph to a Man," a tribute to King.
