Baylor University, Truett Seminary to Host Winter 2018 Commencement Ceremonies

WACO, Texas (Dec. 12, 2018) – Baylor University and George W. Truett Theological Seminary will celebrate graduation of its students with commencement ceremonies Friday, Dec. 14, and Saturday, Dec. 15.

Baylor President Linda A. Livingstone, Ph.D., will preside over the ceremony and confer degrees upon the graduates.

Frank H. Mathis, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, will serve as Bearer of the Mace.

Baylor Commencement Ceremony

The commencement ceremony for all colleges and schools except Truett Seminary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, in the Ferrell Center, 1900 S. University Parks Drive.

George W. Truett Theological Seminary Commencement

Commencement for the Truett Seminary will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at First Baptist Church of Waco, 500 Webster Ave. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church.

Parking

Parking will be available at the Ferrell Center and is accessible from University Parks Drive and La Salle Avenue. Free shuttle buses will be available from the East Campus parking garage to the Ferrell Center.

Parking attendants will be available to direct parking. If curbside drop-off or handicap parking is necessary, please inform the parking attendant on site.

Seating

Doors will open to the Ferrell Center 90 minutes before the start of the ceremony, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Graduates are encouraged to have no more than 10 guests to make sure families of all graduates are accommodated and to ensure safety. Guests may save seats until 15 minutes prior to the ceremony’s start, at which time all seating is made available to all guests.

Seating areas designated for guests in wheelchairs available throughout the arena.

Streaming

Live streaming will be available for the ceremony online via Baylor’s commencement website.

Photography

Baylor will have Flash Photography as the official photographer of the commencement ceremony. Flash will photograph each graduate as he or she receives a diploma from President Livingstone and will take another photo after the graduate leaves the stage. Information regarding proofs will be mailed to the graduate’s Baylor email address and permanent mailing address by Flash Photography.

The Baylor Alumni Network will have a tent in front of the Ferrell Center after the ceremony for students to take photos and greet fellow graduates and faculty.
