WACO, Texas (Aug. 30, 2018) – This week, Baylor University will host the Logan Walter Band in Chapel, a jazz ensemble swing concert, two science lectures and the first fall presentation of World Cinema Series.

MONDAY, Sept. 3
Labor Day - In observance of Labor Day, no classes will be held at Baylor University on Monday, Sept. 3, and hours of operation on Baylor’s campus will be altered. For a list of the adjusted hours, visit the Baylor Media Communications website.

TUESDAY, Sept. 4
World Cinema Series – At 6 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium of Draper Hall, Baylor’s department of modern language and cultures will host the first movie of the fall World Cinema Series, “Psychokinesis,” a South Korean film. For more information, visit the Baylor modern languages and cultures website.

WEDNESDAY, Sept. 5
Chapel Highlights – The Logan Walter Band will perform during Chapel services at 9:05, 10:10 and 11:15 a.m. in Waco Hall, 624 Speight Ave. Logan Walter serves on Baylor’s Center for Christian Music Studies advisory board. For more information, visit the Spiritual Life website.

Environmental Science Seminar – David Lary, Ph.D., professor of physics at University of Texas at Dallas, will present “Remote Sensing and Computation: Using Physics for Society” at a seminar presented by Baylor’s department of environmental science at 4 p.m. in Room A.108 of the Baylor Sciences Building, 101 Bagby Ave. For more information, visit the environmental science website.
THURSDAY, Sept. 6
Jazz Ensemble Swing Concert – Baylor Jazz Ensemble will host the 11th-annual Swing Concert at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall in McCrary Music Building, 110 Baylor Ave. The concert, Moonlight Serenade, is led by Alex Parker, senior lecturer in jazz studies in Baylor’s School of Music. FRIDAY, Sept. 7
