Brass Music of Daron Hagen to be Featured Nov. 13

The Baylor University Brass Quintet will present music of contemporary composer Daron Hagen at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in Roxy Grove Hall.
Daron Aric Hagen was born in 1961 in Milwaukee, Wis. He serves on the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and is now in his second brief period of residency this semester at Baylor.
The Baylor Brass Quintet is comprised of Barry Hopper, associate professor of trumpet; trumpeter Vern Sielert, director of jazz ensembles; Margaret Robinson, assistant professor of horn; David Jackson, assistant professor of trombone; and Michael Fischer, lecturer in tuba.
This concert will feature performances of two works by Daron Hagen: Everything Must Go and the five-movement Concerto for Brass Quintet. Prior to each piece, the composer will provide the audience with background information.
