McIver to Speak at Chapel-Forum Sept. 24

Dr. Bruce McIver, retired pastor emeritus of Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, will speak at Baylor University during Chapel-Forum at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in Waco Hall.

McIver will speak on "Life at it's Best!" He has been enjoying retirement and keeps himself busy by spending time with his five grandchildren.

McIver graduated from Baylor 1946 with a bachelor's degree and continued his education at Southwestern Seminary. In 1972, he received an honorary Doctor of Laws from Baylor.

He taught Bible courses at Southwest Texas State and Texas Tech and served as a trustee at Baylor. He has written three books including Stories I Couldn't Tell While I was a Pastor. In spring of this year, McIver was awarded the George W. Truett Distinguished Church Service Award by the Baylor Alumni Association. McIver served Wilshire Baptist for 30 years and now leads and speaks at conferences.
