Children's Museum Seeks Volunteers

September 18, 1997

The Ollie Mae Moen Discovery Center, the children's hands-on facility of the Strecker Museum Complex at Baylor University, is looking for volunteers to help with children's programming.
Adult volunteers are needed to present programs to children who visit the Children's Museum. Each year, more than 23,000 Central Texas school children make field trips to the center to participate in various activities such as trying scientific experimentation, blowing soap bubbles, investigating optical illusions and learning about animals and different cultures.
Volunteer requirements include a time commitment of three hours a day, either from 8:30-11:30 a.m. or from noon to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday; enthusiasm for learning; a desire to be with children; patience; and a willingness to share time and knowledge.
