August 22, 1997

WACO, Texas - Baylor University, Waco-based Reebok Team Uniforms and Reebok International have entered into an agreement by which the majority of the Bears' official athletic equipment will be provided by Reebok.
Reebok Team Uniforms, formerly known as Fab-Knit, will outfit Baylor's football, soccer, softball, baseball, men's and women's golf and men's and women's tennis teams.
Reebok Team Uniform president Bob Landon said, "We started working on this deal three years ago and about seven months ago we became Reebok International's exclusive uniform manufacturer in the United States and Canada. Part of our negotiations involved Baylor University.
"This has turned out to be a very beneficial program for Baylor, Reebok International and Reebok Team Uniforms. We are extremely ecstatic because we're a Waco company working with Baylor," Landon said.
He continued, "Baylor needs to be wearing name brand team uniform products recognized world-wide. It enhances Baylor's stature in the Big 12 and nationally. It's a good situation for all of us.
"We're thrilled to be entering into such an arrangement with a Waco-based company that is known world-wide for producing excellent athletic shoes and apparel," Athletic Director Tom Stanton said. "It took several months for us to pull everything together, but we're glad now to have the deal worked out."
