WACO, Texas (April 28, 2017) – This week, Baylor University will host several notable concerts and events, including a performance by the Baylor Concert Band, Baylor Theater’s Spring CaBEARet and a lecture on geology and the cattle drive.
Monday, May 1, is the last day of classes for the spring semester. Tuesday, May 2, is a study day. Finals begin Wednesday, May 3, and continue through Monday, May 8.
SUNDAY, April 30
Concert Band – The Baylor Concert Band will perform at 3 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall in Glennis McCrary Music Building, 110 Baylor Ave. This event is free and open to the public.
Baylor Fashion Show – Family and Consumer Sciences will host the Baylor Fashion Show at 3 p.m. on the fifth floor of Cashion Academic Center, 1401 S. Fourth St. General admission is $20. Tickets are available for purchase from the Bill Daniel Student Center Ticket Office.
WEDNESDAY, May 3
Angel Paws Therapy Dogs – Therapy dogs from Angel Paws Waco will be on campus to ease the stress of finals from 7 to 9 p.m. on the garden level of Moody Memorial Library, 1312 S. Third St.

Cattle Drive GPS – Joe Yelderman, Ph.D., professor of geosciences in the College of Arts & Sciences and director of the Institute of Ecological, Earth and Environmental Sciences at Baylor University, will lecture on “Cattle Drive GPS: Geology Plus Springs—How Geology Brought the Trail to Central Texas” at 11 a.m. at Mayborn Museum Complex, 1300 S. University Parks Drive. The lecture is included in the price of museum admission, which is free for Baylor students and museum members. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for children ages 2-12 and $7 for seniors over 65.
FRIDAY, May 5
Spring CaBEARet – The department of theatre arts will host the Spring CaBEARet at 7:30 p.m. at Jones Theater in Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, 60 Baylor Ave. All proceeds from this performance benefit the Leta Horan and Jerry MacLauchlin Endowed Scholarship for Musical Theatre. Suggested donation is $10 for students and $20 for adults. The box office will open at 6:30 p.m. for general admission seating.
