WACO, Texas (April 24, 2017) – Baylor University’s Graduate School will host an open house for the new Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 27, in Room 100 of Morrison Hall, 1410 S. Fifth St.

The open house will provide opportunities for prospective students to learn more about the DPT program through a presentation about the innovative program and its curriculum.

Open house attendees also will have the opportunity to interact with the program’s faculty, including the admissions staff, program director and other faculty members, who will be able to answer questions about the admissions process, the blended learning style and other aspects of the program.

“We will integrate the most innovative technology, blended learning methods and structured clinical education into an accelerated, two-year curriculum, compared to three years in other DPT programs,” said Denny Kramer, Ph.D., associate dean of the Graduate School.

Baylor University has offered a DPT program with the U.S. Army for years, but the new DPT program will be open to civilians. The program will allow students flexibility through a blend of online and on-site learning.

“Students can live anywhere in the country as long as they can commute to Dallas for the onsite lab intensives,” said John D. Childs, PT, Ph.D., associate professor and director of Baylor’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
