WACO, Texas (April 18, 2017) – The Baylor Institute for Studies of Religion (ISR) is co-sponsoring the one-day symposium “What Is to Be Done? Responding to the Global Persecution of Christians” on April 20.
The event, hosted by the Under Caesar’s Sword project and its primary partners, the Religious Freedom Institute and the Center for Ethics and Culture at the University of Notre Dame, in close collaboration with Aid to the Church in Need, will feature the launch of the report “In Response to Persecution.”
The symposium will provide recommendations for action concerning how Christians respond to persecution and advance religious freedom for everyone and how the rest of the world can exercise solidarity with those persecuted. It will feature globally prominent speakers on religious freedom and leading scholars of global Christianity such as Chad Bauman, Kathleen Collins, Thomas Farr and many more.
“This event will feature findings from many scholars covering some of the world’s most repressive countries,” said Byron Johnson, ISR director. “ISR is a co-sponsor of the symposium, which is led by Notre Dame’s Center for Ethics and Culture. The event will also feature a screening of the ‘Under Caesar's Sword’ documentary, produced by Academy Award-Nominated producer Jason Cohen.”
This event is free and open to the public and advanced registration is strongly recommended.
