Romantic Comedy Presented at Baylor Theater June 19-21

June 12, 1997

The Baylor University Department of Theater Arts presents Jack and Jill, a romantic comedy, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 19-20, and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, in Theater 11 at the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Building on the Baylor campus.
The contemporary play was written by Jane Martin and was first performed last year at the Humana Festival in Louisville, Ky. James Salter, a graduate student in theater arts, is directing the Baylor production.
Jack and Jill centers around the need for relationships between men and women and the search for those relationships.
"The play is a romance and a comedy," said Salter. "It is funny, sweet, endearing and hopefully will make the people in the audience think about their own relationships."
The part of Jack will be portrayed by Derek Phillips, a sophomore from Florida, and Jill will be played by Jami Hradecky, a senior from Rockdale.
Tickets for Jack and Jill are $3 and may be purchased from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hooper-Schaefer box office.
