Memorial Service Set for Diana Garland, Founding Dean of School of Social Work

WACO, Texas (Oct. 13, 2015) - A public memorial service for Diana Garland, founding dean and later namesake of Baylor University’s Diana R. Garland School of Social Work, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at First Baptist Church of Waco, 500 Webster Ave.

Garland passed away Sept. 21 in Colorado following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked memorials be sent to the Diana R. Garland Endowed Scholarship, the Diana R. Garland Endowed Chair of Child and Family Services or to the Garland School of Social Work Excellence Fund, One Bear Place #97320, Waco, Texas, 76798. Memorials also may be made online.
