WACO, Texas (Sept. 25, 2015) – Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business is partnering with Accenture, one of the world’s largest consulting firms, to present their inaugural Business Leadership Summit. The summit will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, in Meyer Conference Center at the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation.
“We wanted to create an event where our students would have an opportunity to receive highly marketable business skills from a top consulting firm,” said Ken Buckley, M.B.A., assistant dean of career management at Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business.
Accenture provides consulting and outsourcing services through strategy, digital, technology and operations capabilities. They have made 12 consecutive appearances on FORTUNE’s “World’s Most Admired Companies” list.
During the opening session, students will engage in a question-and-answer session with Accenture executives about interpersonal and leadership skills intended to greatly enhance students’ ability to successfully build relationships and move teams to action in the workplace.
“Awareness of this topic is a highly useful resource that will prove value as students are interviewed by elite firms,” Buckley said.
Students will hear from industry experts about how to evaluate others and how to effectively lead and work with them in order to increase effectiveness.
The Accenture Leadership Summit was created to develop skills in students to set them apart from their peers at other universities, Buckley said. He hopes the summit will give students a competitive edge when looking for jobs. Accenture’s new hires go through this exact training and it has been a “game-changer” for the firm, he said.
Students may register for the Business Leadership Summit sponsored by Accenture on Handshake. Pizza and refreshments will be provided.
