44th All-University Sing Competition to Begin Feb. 21

February 13, 1997

Baylor University will hold the 44th annual All-University Sing, a student musical production, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21-22, Feb. 28 and March 1, in Waco Hall. All performances will begin at 7 p.m.
A panel of judges from cheerleading, dance, theatre, and musical backgrounds will review the competing 18 acts. The acts will be judged the last three nights of the show by groups of four panelists each.
Three acts will be selected for first, second and third place, with the top eight acts performing at Baylor's annual Pigskin Review during Homecoming week next fall. Each of the top eight acts receives a monetary prize of $1,000 to cover expenses.
Approximately 1,000 students will perform in acts that encompass both serious and fun themes accompanied by various forms of music. Acts will be judged on their entertainment value, musical quality, creativity, choreography, and theme development. The winners will be announced at the end of the March 1 show. Since its inception in 1953, Sing has become steadily more creative and technical.
Tickets are $10 each for the general public and $8 each for students.
