WACO, Texas (April 24, 2015) – Baylor University senior Kelsey Mann was named runner-up in the national Sales Student of the Year Award competition held by the American Marketing Association (AMA) and the University Sales Center Alliance (USCA).

Mann is a senior in the professional selling program in Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business.

“It was really overwhelming when I found out I had placed second for this award,” Mann said. “I am blessed and thankful to be able to represent Baylor professional selling.”

The AMA Sales Student of the Year Award recognizes the top collegiate members demonstrating superior exposure to and participation in sales-related events.

The award selection criterion includes sales and selling experiential activities, coursework, non-credit activities and participation in AMA sales-related activities. Each nominee is evaluated by AMA advisors and USCA members.

Baylor University’s professional selling program is a competitive program supported by Baylor’s Center for Professional Selling. The program is framed along three competencies - curriculum, college-to-career transition and collaborative nature - which anchor the student’s experience. The selective nature of the program allows full-time faculty members to engage in each student’s learning and development. All students who graduate from the program are consistently among the strongest salespeople in the nation.

“The professional selling program has given me the opportunity to find my niche and prepare me for a career in a field I love and enjoy,” Mann said. “I am humbled to be able to have success in this field as a student but would not be here without the professional selling program and the people who have made my development possible.”
