Annual Gospel Fest '97 Set for Feb. 8

Baylor University's Heavenly Voices Gospel Choir will host the 9th Annual Gospel Fest on Saturday, Feb. 8, at Waco Hall on the Baylor campus. This year's theme is based on Psalm 150, "Let Everything that Hath Breath Praise the Lord."
The day-long event will involve six collegiate choirs from across the state of Texas. Workshops for these choirs will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, and conclude at 5 p.m. The choirs then will reconvene for the concert at 7 p.m. Each choir will perform two numbers, and the feature choir, Heavenly Voices, will perform four. The last two numbers will be performed by all of the choirs combined.
Dominique Hernandez, president of Heavenly Voices, said that "Gospel Fest is something that we work for year-round. We really look forward to February. This concert is just a celebration of the Lord and a time to praise Him."
Tickets for the evening concert may be purchased for $3 at the ticket office of the Bill Daniel Student Center and $5 at the door.
