Harlem Globetrotters Perform at Ferrell Center Feb. 7

WACO, Texas -- The Harlem Globetrotters bring their entertaining brand of basketball to Waco when the group performs at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, in the Ferrell Center.
Fans will enjoy nearly two hours of unforgettable basketball as they witness the Globetrotters' amazing ball-handling skills. The show will feature high-tech special effects, a musical score, expert showmen and audience participation. Team mascot Globie will entertain with dancing, fan interaction, gymnastics and rollerblading. After the performance, the Globetrotters will be available to sign autographs.
Continuing a 70-year tradition of entertaining basketball, the Globetrotters performed for more than two million fans in more than 10 countries in 1996. In June 1996, the troupe was the first professional basketball team from the United States to tour South Africa with its Friendship Tour. While in South Africa, the Globetrotters presented a $1 million donation to the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund.
Tickets for the Ferrell Center performance are $22, $17.50, $14 and $11. Tickets for children age 12 and under, senior citizens and students with a Baylor I.D. are $7 or $5.50. Tickets can be purchased at Blockbuster Music in Waco or by calling 752-8822.
