WACO, Texas (Jan. 22, 2015) – Baylor University’s Department of Spiritual Life looks forward to welcoming noteworthy guests to chapel services this spring.

According to University Chaplain Burt Burleson, D.Min., and Associate Chaplain and Director of Worship and Chapel Ryan Richardson, chapel is an excellent chance for students to learn and grow in their Christian faith.

“Chapel is an opportunity for our community to engage in God’s narrative as it is being lived out in Waco and around the world,” Burleson and Richardson said in a statement.

Special guests this semester include:

Greg Garrett, Baylor English professor, writer and a leading authority on religion and culture who has appeared on NPR, BBC Radio and in the New York Times.

Sandra McCracken, an independent folk musician whose album, “The Kingdom of Heaven is Like This,” was released in 2014.

Crowder, a Baylor University alumnus and musician who shared his worship songs with millions as the lead singer of the David Crowder Band. He now simply goes by Crowder and recently released his first solo album, “Neon Steeple.”

• Joyce Jones, organist, retired professor of music and Organist-in-Residence at Baylor University

“It is a time to remember God and give thanks, to pray for one another, to confess and commit to the faith that binds us, and to receive again the grace of God,” Burleson and Richardson said.
