Speech Disorder Conference Scheduled for Jan. 31

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Baylor University will sponsor an all-day conference on speech and language disorders from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, in the Cashion Academic Center of the Hankamer School of Business. Dr. Hugh Catts will conduct the workshop.
Catts is an assistant professor in speech and language disorders at the University of Kansas. He is co-editor of the book Reading Disabilities: A Developmental Language Perspective and is involved in a large-scale longitudinal study to examine early predictors of reading disabilities. Catts will speak on the language basis of reading disabilities.
Admission to the workshop is $35 for speech professionals and $5 for students. The conference is approved for continuing education credit from the Texas Speech, Hearing and Language Association. Pre-registration is recommended.
