Baptist Faith and Message Subject of Conference

WACO, Texas - Baylor University's Department of Religion, in conjunction with the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor, will host a Continuing Education for Church and Denominational Workers Conference from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Truett Seminary.
The subject of the conference is "Baptist Doctrine Series - Baptist Faith and Message." Dr. Brad Creed, dean of Truett Seminary, will serve as the conference leader.
Creed, a former pastor of First Baptist Church, Natchitoches, La., has earned degrees from Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In June 1996, he completed a management development program at Harvard University. Creed has served as interim pastor for First Baptist Church, Longview; First Baptist Church, Amarillo; and presently, Calvary Baptist Church of Garland.
The conference will cover topics such as the difference between a confession of faith and a creed, the importance of a confession of faith, reasons for doctrinal differences, the importance of doctrine in Baptist life, what Baptists believe and the role of the Baptist Faith and Message.
The purpose of the conference is to assist church and denominational leaders as they give leadership to this doctrinal study in their churches.
