WACO, Texas - Baylor University's Institute for Family Business will present a half-day workshop, "Heirs Apparent: Developing Leadership in the Next Generation," on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Omni Park West, 1590 LBJ Freeway, Dallas.
The program, part of the Institute's North Texas Family Business Forum, will be led by Brenda Morris, assistant vice president for organizational development at Baylor and coordinator of the leadership development program in Baylor's Hankamer School of Business.
Morris previously worked with Electronic Data Systems in Dallas in the corporate training area and has developed and delivered training for numerous organizations including General Motors, AT&T, Plantation Foods and the City of Waco.
Bob Hughes, program director of the Institute for Family Business, says the program will guide participants through leadership development and succession techniques.
"Successful and effective leaders get that way, not by birthright, but by successfully responding and adapting over a long period of time to diverse but specific experiences," he says. "Development of successful and effective leaders should not be left to chance."
