Association of Black Students Hosts Black Heritage Banquet with Guest Speaker Tamera Mowry-Housley

WACO, Texas (Feb. 7, 2014) - In honor of Black History Month, the Baylor University Association of Black Students, in conjunction with the Department of Multicultural Affairs, will host the 27th annual Black Heritage Banquet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11 on the fifth floor banquet room of Cashion Academic Center. This year's banquet will focus on Job 23:10, which says, "He knows where I am going, and when he has tested me I will emerge as pure gold."
The evening's keynote speaker will be Tamera Mowry-Housley, who began her successful career with her twin sister Tia Mowry-Hardrict on the hit 90s sitcom "Sister, Sister." She will speak on "Facing the Unknown," which will highlight her life's journey and the challenges she has overcome.
Musical guest Holly Tucker, a Baylor junior and finalist on NBC's "The Voice" in 2013, will also be a featured guest at the banquet.
Tickets for the event are $15 for students and $20 for general admission. Dinner will be served and dress is business attire. Tickets can be purchased at the Bill Daniel Student Center (SUB) Ticket Office at www.baylor.edu/tickets.
