WACO, Texas (Jan. 22, 2014) - The Mayborn Museum Complex will open a new exhibit titled WEEBLES Coast to Coast on Saturday, Jan. 25. With help from Weebles characters, visitors will "travel" to each of the 50 states to learn about geography, history and culture.

The traveling exhibit was created by the Betty Brinn Children's Museum in Milwaukee, Wis., before moving to a museum Atlanta, Ga. Some of the exhibit's hands-on activities for children include pretending to fish in Minnesota, driving along the Pacific Coast Highway in California and riding a hot air balloon in New Mexico.

Rebecca Tucker Nall, changing exhibits manager at the Mayborn, said the exhibit will be fun and educational for kids.

"We like to get traveling exhibits that appeal to families and school groups," she said. "In this exhibit, all of the states are represented with cultural activities. We want people to learn about our country and have fun while doing it."

Nall said the exhibit is fun for the whole family, especially those with children aged 2-10.

The cost of the exhibit is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors (65 and older) and $5 for children through 12 years. Mayborn Museum Members and Baylor University students will receive free admission, and military discounts are available.

The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The exhibit will be on display through May 4, 2014.
