WACO, Texas (Oct. 23, 2013) - Rishi Sriram, Ph.D., an assistant professor of higher education and student affairs and the graduate program coordinator of educational administration at Baylor, received the Faculty Member of the Year award at the Texas Association of College & University Student Personnel Administrators (TACUSPA) annual conference Oct. 14.
The award is given to recognize outstanding contributions to teaching, research and the mentorship of graduate students.
Jon Englehardt, Ph.D., dean of the Baylor School of Education, said the award could not have gone to a more deserving person.
"Rishi is the ideal faculty member and colleague for this award," he said. "He is hard-working, energetic, positive and readily affirms others for their contributions. He is disarmingly likable."
Englehardt said he understands why the committee thought him a qualified candidate.
"Aside from his professional and personal qualities, his expertise and experience in student personnel allows him to easily command respect from others."
TACUPSA is an association of those interested in the professional administration of student affairs programs in higher education. The association is dedicated to the development of the student affairs profession in the state of Texas.
