Baylor Welcomes Supreme Court Justice Tom Phillips

WACO, Texas (Oct. 22, 2013) - Baylor Libraries has invited Tom Phillips, retired Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court, to speak on campus at 4 p.m. Oct. 23 in The Texas Collection library.
Phillips, a distinguished alumnus of Baylor and recipient of the 2013-2014 Pro Texana Medal of Service from the university, will speak about the life and impact of Judge Robert Emmett Bledsoe Baylor and the important role he played in the founding of Texas' oldest university.
The Texas Collection will display a portrait of Judge Baylor by Tom Lea, a prominent Texas artist and writer who died in 2001, in celebration of Tom Lea Month.
The lecture is free and open to the public. The Texas Collection is located on the Baylor campus, 1429 S. Fifth Street.
