Fourth Annual Autumn Moon Festival Set for Sept. 28

September 20, 1996

The Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) at Baylor University will present the fourth annual Autumn Moon Festival from 8-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Members of the VSA, including Vietnamese, Chinese and Korean students, will entertain and educate the audience about Vietnamese culture by performing an umbrella dance, a chopstick dance, skits and songs. The night will end with a traditional lion dance and lantern lighting.
"We are a very diverse club representing many different cultures," said Thu Nguyen. "The Moon Festival is not really a holiday but an occasion to celebrate our culture with the new moon."
Sweets from the Vietnamese culture such as moonpies, coconut chews and other snacks will be served following the entertainment.
Tickets for the festival can be purchased in advance at the Baylor Ticket Office in the Bill Daniel Student Center. Tickets are $5 for VSA members, family and Baylor faculty and $7 for non-members. Tickets sold at the door will be $10.
