WACO, Texas (Nov. 28, 2012) - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas on the Baylor Campus. Live nativities, Christmas concerts and celebrated traditions warm the campus as the final days of the fall semester come to an end.
Christmas at Baylor, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, and Friday, Nov. 30, Jones Concert Hall, Glennis McCrary Music Building, 110 Baylor Ave.
The combined choirs of Baylor University and the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alan Raines, director of choral activities, will perform their Christmas celebration. For ticket information, call Baylor University School of Music box office at 254-710-3991.
Christmas On Fifth Street, 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, Fountain Mall, Burleson Quadrangle, Traditions Plaza, and the Bill Daniel Student Center (SUB), Baylor Campus
Activities include the 46th "Christmas Tree Lighting" presented by Kappa Omega Tau, a "Christmas Marketplace," "Cocoa, Cookies and Carols" presented by the Baylor Religious Hour (BRH) Choir, "New Anthems for an Old Story" and "All Aboard the Mayborn Express." At 9:30 p.m. Christian singer-songwriter Dave Barnes will perform in Burleson Quadrangle.
Santa's Workshop, 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, McLane Student Life Center (SLC), 209 Speight Ave.
Sponsored by the Office of Community Engagement and Service in partnership with Aramark, Santa's Workshop seeks to bless young children in our Waco community. The event includes an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as singing, food, crafts and gifts for children ages 3-5 from area Head Start centers and daycares. A Christmas Carillon Recital, 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, McLane Carillon, Pat Neff Hall Tower, 1320 S. Seventh St.
Lynette Geary, Baylor University Carillonneur, will perform her annual recital for the Christmas season. The program will open with Herbert Colvin's arrangement of the "Doxology," followed by the Roy Hamlin Johnson setting of "Veni Emmanuel" and an arrangement by Roy Hamlin Johnson of 16-century German composer Philipp Nicolai's "Sleepers, Wake."
Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, Memorial Chapel, Memorial Residence Hall, 1425 S. Seventh St.
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at King's College, Campbridge, dates back to 1918. These nine "lessons" trace the biblical narrative from Eden to Christ's birth, from brokenness to hopeful joy. Participants are immersed in the story and find themselves once again waiting with expectation.

Lunch will follow the performance in the Cox Reception Hall.
