Baylor to Host State Softball, Baseball Playoffs

Nine state tournaments involving boys' baseball and girls' softball teams are scheduled from July 27-Aug. 2 at the Texas State Little League Complex on the Baylor University campus.
According to Mike Witherwax, Texas state director, the tournaments are expected to bring approximately 560 participants and 120 coaches from 40 teams.
An opening ceremony banquet for the teams is scheduled for 7 p.m., July 26, at the Waco Convention Center.
Pairings will have 9-10-year-old baseballers on Norcross Field, with the championship game scheduled for Tuesday, July 30. The 9-10-year-old softballers will play at Cooper Field, with the championship game also set for Tuesday, July 30.
Junior League baseball and softball will play on Senior Field, with the championship game scheduled for Tuesday, July 30. Senior League baseball and softball games are scheduled for Ferrell Field, and the championship game will also be held Tuesday, July 30.
Big League baseball and softball will be played on Hilton Field, with both championship games scheduled for Tuesday, July 30.
Little League baseball and softball will be played on Hilton Field, with the championship games scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 1.
At least 24 teams will stay in campus residence halls for the duration of the tournament.
All games are open to the public. The 9-10-year-old and Little League games are free, and an all-day pass for the other division games is $3 for adults and $1.50 for children.
