Endowed Scholarship Fund Established at Baylor

July 9, 1996

WACO, Texas - The Anna Collier Marshall and H.F. Collier Endowed Scholarship Fund was recently established at Baylor University in honor of Marshall and in memory of Collier by their daughters for instilling in them the dream of attending Baylor.
Lynda S. Collier, Bill and Sue Collier Daniel, and Dale and Anita Collier Jones provided the monies for the fund which will be used by Baylor's University Scholarship Committee to award scholarships to a student or students in the School of Education who are preparing for careers in elementary or secondary education. The committee will award each scholarship on the basis of need and merit.
The Collier daughters established the fund in appreciation of their parents who believed that Baylor would prepare their children to make meaningful contributions to their families and communities, and to glorify God.
"Baylor is very grateful to the Collier families for their generosity in giving this gift to the university; endowed scholarships are gifts which keep on giving, year after year," said Dr. Gwin Morris, associate vice president for university development.
Marshall was presented with a plaque during a recent luncheon on the Baylor campus by Dr. Richard Scott, vice president for university development. Marshall's daughters and their families attended the luncheon.
Dale Jones is a member of Baylor's Board of Regents. He is vice chairman of Halliburton Company in Dallas.
