Baylor to Host Accounting and Business Careers Conference

June 25, 1996

Baylor University will host an Accounting and Business conference for incoming freshmen from July 14-17.
According to Dr. Mike Cassell, conference coordinator, approximately 45 students from Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Louisiana and Kansas will attend the conference. Students attending are selected high school seniors who expressed an interest in accounting and business.
The students will arrive on Sunday and a mixer will be held Sunday evening. They will attend class and lab sessions taught by faculty volunteers on Monday and Wednesday in the Hankamer School of Business. The classes will give students a chance to learn state-of-the-art computer applications in business. On Tuesday, the group will take a trip to Dallas and visit firms such as Dr Pepper Bottling and the Rosewood Corp.
The cost for the conference is covered by the business school.
