House of Poetry Presents Poetry Reading Sessions Feb. 28

February 27, 1996

Baylor University's House of Poetry will present a day of poetry reading on Wednesday, Feb. 28 in Carroll Science Hall.
Registration for the sessions will be held in the foyer of Carroll Science Hall from 8-9 a.m. Session one will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and session two from 1:30-5 p.m. Both sessions will be held in Room 101 of Carroll Science Hall.
Poems were chosen upon submission by members of the House of Poetry and selected by Dr. Robert Collmer, distinguished professor of English, and a committee to be presented at the reading sessions.
The House of Poetry is comprised of a group of people interested in poetry and membership is open to the public. "The House of Poetry started in 1974," said Collmer.
"In recent years it involves people from all walks of life who are interested in poetry. These are not professional poets, but they love poetry and they come here once a year to read their selections. This year, Michael Decker, the chief financial officer of Trammell Crow Realtors in Dallas, one of the largest real estate companies in Texas, will read selections of his works."
