Baylor University Alpha Tau Omega and Chi Omega Present Bed Races and Chili Cook-off to Benefit Make-a-wish Foundation

Baylor University's Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and Chi Omega sorority chapters will host the annual All University Bed Races and Chili Cook-Off at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Fountain Mall on the Baylor campus. The event, which is open to the public, will raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Admission to the bed races is free and refreshments will be provided. A $5 fee will cover tasting the chili recipes entered into the contest.
The ninth annual bed races will begin at 7 p.m. Team check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places, as well as awards for best costume. To register for the bed races, click here. Registration closes at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20.
The 15th annual chili cook-off also will begin at 7 p.m. after check-in at 6:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places, as well as awards for best chili in various categories. Uproar Records, the student-run record label of the Baylor University Hankamer School of Business, will present David Dulcie and the Ragtag Army for a performance at 7:30 p.m.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation's mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The cost associated with coordinating a wish varies depending on the type of wish, but as of March 2009, the average cost of a wish was $7,362.
