WACO, Texas (Jul. 28, 2015) – Baylor University alumna Jake Surges is one of four Baylor students and recent graduates who have been selected to receive the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship. Surges is a University Scholar and a Crane Scholar, an arm of the Institute for Faith and Learning. He received the Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) and will spend the 2015-2016 academic year teaching English in Taiwan.

Baylor University is mourning the passing of Tommie R. Thompson, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering, who died June 29, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. A memorial service will be announced at a later date and held at Austin Avenue United Methodist Church in Waco.
