WACO, Texas (May 3, 2016) – For the past two years, a full-credit class of Baylor University students has focused its energies on the role of philanthropy in a civil society while taking on the very real task of giving away thousands of dollars to local nonprofit organizations. On May 3, the spring 2016 “Philanthropy and the Public Good” class of 19 students presented $52,500 in grants to nine local nonprofit organizations during a ceremony in the President’s Suite at McLane Stadium.

WACO, Texas (May 2, 2016) - Dean Terry S. Maness of Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. Maness was elected to a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2016.

HOUSTON, Texas (April 29, 2016) – Baylor University has received $340,575 from ExxonMobil and its employees through the ExxonMobil Foundation’s 2015 Educational Matching Gift Program. Representatives from ExxonMobil presented Baylor President and Chancellor Ken Starr with the check during an April 28 ceremony celebrating the generosity of ExxonMobil and the impact the contributions continue to have on the University. The ceremony was part of a “Baylor Day” held by Baylor alumni at ExxonMobil’s new campus in Houston.

WACO, Texas (April 28, 2016) – The Baylor School of Music will host its annual President’s Concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, in Jones Concert Hall, located within the McCrary Music Building on Baylor’s campus. This year’s program will present German master Johannes Brahms, as he performs “A German Requiem, Op. 45.”

WACO, Texas (April 20, 2016) – Following a unanimous recommendation from the university search committee, Baylor University President and Chancellor Ken Starr today announced the appointment of L. Gregory Jones, Ph.D., senior strategist for leadership education at Duke Divinity School and the Ruth W. and A. Morris Williams Jr. Professor of Theology and Christian Ministry, as executive vice president and provost, effective May 16, 2016. His wife, the Rev. Susan Pendleton Jones, associate dean for ministerial formation at Duke Divinity School, also will join Baylor as senior fellow in the Institute for Faith and Learning.
